WHP: State Tobacco Laws Will Be Enforced

A new federal law has raised the age for buying and selling tobacco products from 18-21. As it stands, Wyoming’s law still reads that the legal age is 18 and that is the law Wyoming Highway Patrol Troopers will adhere to according to Captain Jason Green.
Captain Green continued that State Statutes regarding tobacco sales very well might be changed by the State Legislature in the upcoming Budget Session to remain in good standing with the Federal Government.
At the time this story was written, no legislation has been posted to the Legislature’s website that would change tobacco laws, although it will surely be a topic discussed during the session.
