Campbell County Health to Cancel All Elective Surgeries

Campbell County Health announced Thursday that all elective surgeries at Campbell County Memorial Hospital will be cancelled starting Monday, October 25. According to Campbell County Health, the cancellation of all elective surgeries is to ensure that inpatient beds are available for emergent admissions, and to enable staff to be reassigned to work in the areas of greatest need in the organization. Emergent surgeries will continue to be performed.

Surgical capacity will be evaluated on a weekly basis, with a goal of returning to performing inpatient and outpatient elective surgeries as soon as possible. Campbell County Health advises patients to consult their surgeon with any questions on the status of any scheduled surgeries.

Campbell County continues to have one of the lowest COVID-19 vaccination rates in the State with approximately 24 percent of the population being fully vaccinated. According to the Department of Health, only Crook County, at 22 percent, has a lower vaccination rate.
