SMH will reopen vaccination clinic for boosters

Sheridan Memorial Hospital is developing plans to reopen the COVID-19 vaccination clinic to administer both first time vaccinations as well as boosters. 

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention state that COVID-19 vaccine booster shots are available for the following Pfizer vaccine recipients who completed their initial series at least 6 months ago and are 65 years and older, those aged 50 – 64 years or older who live in long-term care settings, those who have underlying medical conditions, people who work in high-risk settings and those who live in high-risk settings.

Appointments to receive a Pfizer booster or an initial set of vaccinations can be made beginning Monday, Oct. 4, on the Sheridan Memorial Hospital website

The clinic will once again be located on the second floor of the Outpatient Center. Dr. Lekan Ajayi, Director of Lean Transformation, who oversaw the development and operations of the vaccine clinic during the first iteration of vaccinations will once again take the reins of the clinic.

Currently the booster vaccines are for those individuals who received the initialPfizer vaccine.
