Gordon Releases Draft Executive Order

Governor Mark Gordon has released a draft version of an Executive order that outlines his Migration Corridor Policies and Strategy according to a release from his office. The draft was created in an effort to balance the needs and concerns of Wyoming citizens, industry, wildlife. In the order, there are many recommendations released by the Migration Corridor Advisory Group back in September, including changes to the process for officially designating a corridor and the establishment of area working groups for considered corridors. It would also install a requirement to actively engage landowners prior to corridor designation.
Governor Gordon said his goal is to identify solutions that would both protect wildlife and support the economy through the multiple use of public and state lands. The advisory group for this project met three times in 2019 and includes representatives from the energy and agriculture sectors as well as those from conservation, recreation, and sportsmen groups. A County Commissioner is also on the team. For a link to this draft Executive Order, follow this link https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9TtB8ZNXJJWSU5UcEZGUXpNWG5UZ3l6NmZybzNfVHl1R3Vz/view. A final version is expected to be completed and issued in early 2020.
