Cheney Wants Minority Hearing on Impeachment

The House Judiciary Committee continued their markup of articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump Thursday and in response more than 70 Republican Representatives, including Wyoming’s lone House member Liz Cheney, signed a letter demanding that a minority hearing is held on impeachment. According to a release from her office, Cheney, who serves as the House GOP Conference Chair, said that the letter was sent to Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler.

Republicans on the committee have called for a minority hearing, referencing compliance with a specific clause in Rule XI, since the proceedings began in the Judiciary Committee. The letter stipulates that Chairman Nadler has ignored the request in spite of the rules prohibiting his ability to deny the appeal.
