Aaron PalmerThis weekend had a number of fun events to help kickoff Buffalo’s Christmas season, including shopping, fireworks, free chili and a lighted parade.
Saturday began with the 3-2-1 sales in participating businesses, the annual free chili feed, the Lighted Christmas Parade with nearly 30 floats decorated in this year’s theme of “Christmas Magic,” and fireworks after the parade in Prosinki Park to end the day.
Winners for floats in four categories were chosen by a collection of judges.
The unofficial results gave top honors in the Church Category to the United Methodist Church; Grouse Mountain in the Commercial Category; there was a tie for first place in the Youth Organization Category between Buffalo High School’s Skills USA and 4-H; and in the Adult Organization Category, first place went to the Pan Buffalo Steel Drum Band.
The overall winner was Grouse Mountain.
