Many businesses around the country were forced to temporarily close their doors in the spring of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While the shutdowns in Wyoming did not last as long as in larger, more populated urban areas, the economic effects were far reaching for many small businesses. Black Tooth Brewing Company Co-Founder Tim Barnes says that locally, his team has been resilient through the challenging times.
An aluminum can shortage and supply chain issues are a reality that Barnes, and many of his colleagues continue to deal with regularly.
While there are a slew of factors that have contributed to the aluminum can shortage, a surge in demand for cans that began during last year’s shutdowns, coupled with an overall shortage of aluminum appear to be the main culprits for the shortage.
