SCSD#2 approves the use of masks

School starts Tuesday in Sheridan County School District #2. Although there were many anti-mask parents who spoke passionately at the special meeting the board voted unanimously to approve the use of masks for the beginning of the school year.
Scott Stults had this to say about the Covid-19 plan for the up-coming year.
The board’s recommendation is based on local data from local physicians.
Chairman Susan Wilson said in closing. “We take into account legal and medical advice when making this decision. Our decisions are based on the best advice available to us. Our doctors are in constant communication with our board.”

But in the mean time, all school travel and activities will continue, including playing tackle football all the while no wearing a muzzle?

I interpreted the presence of the police officer to be meant as intimidation to the parents wanting to share testimony. I feel it was unnecessary and disrespectful to the parents. It also put the young officer in an awkward position. The school board should not have done this.
Another thing that really made an impression on me was the two teachers who spoke. They kept saying that masks were necessary for the
wellbeing of the staff and students. The staff was always emphasized before the students. The students should come first, always.

I agree. Never in other meetings were there a police officer; however, the school district waited last minute and decided the vote before the meeting started.
So, yes, every action has a reaction. They should have felt uncomfortable with their own decisions, especially when one of the superintendent was maskless three feet away from me I a large store, and a board member was maskless in another large store. What a bunch of hypocrites.

I guess you can only transmit it and contract it between 8 and 4 on school days. Survivability is 99.9% for children. What are we doing to our kiddos???

Check your stats re the delta variant- also, the school can only influence the kids behavior when they’re at school. The real question is what are you doing, or failing to do to protect the kiddos the other 16 hours of the day? Get your facts and your priorities straight, one is too many kids to die from this mostly preventable scourge.
