Richardson Park Resident Seeks Road Adoption by County

Published

on

Dave Huber, a resident of the Richardson Park Subdivision west of Buffalo, petitioned the county commission to add Dogwood Street to the list of county-owned roads.

Huber, representing many residents there, said speed issues and dust mitigation are the main reasons for asking the county to adopt the road.

Discussions centered on the cost to the county, and the requirement that the roads be upgraded to county road standards, which would be expensive, according to County Road & Bridge Superviso Scott Pehringer.

The commission suggested Huber discuss the cost of bringing the roads up to county standards with other property owners in the subdivision and deciding if that would be acceptable, and the county will work with them to pursue the county adopting the road, should they choose to do that.

Another option would be for residents to look into paying the county for spraying magnesium chloride on the roads for dust mitigation.
