The Arvada-Clearmont School board held a short meeting on Wednesday night with one member, Misty Moore, absent.

The first day of school will be August 17, with 99 students enrolled in the school.

Jennifer Betz, activities director, spoke to the board about the upcoming school year activities, and the all-sports meeting that will be on Thursday at 4 p.m.

She also reported that the WHSA wants the sports programs to be as ‘normal as possible’ this year but they are aware there may be Covid-19 spikes after such activities as the 4-H and state fair and other activities where many people are gathered together.

Misty Balleck, special ed teacher, reported that there were 19 students in special ed programs and that the federal grants applications have been submitted.

The bus routes and drivers for the 2021-22 year were approved. There will be five routes; Arvada/Spotted Horse; HWY 14/16; Murphy Gulch; Thompson Creek; and Wild Horse Route #2.

The new maintenance shop for storage of track equipment and other storage is nearing completion, and is expected to be complete by the end of the month.
