Contract Approved for Red Grade Trails Parking Areas

A contract between Sheridan County and Wagner Ranch Services, LLC to build two parking areas and to decommission a two-track on the Red Grade Trail System has been approved by the county commission.

County Administrative Director Renee Obermueller explained the contract further at the commission’s last meeting.

Discussions between commission members at the meeting included a suggestion that signage at the parking areas designate them for walking or bicycle use of the trail system only and not for parking of trucks with trailers full of ATVs.

Obermueller said signage was part of the contract, and signs will be similar to what is posted on other parking areas at trailheads.

The contract amount for construction of the parking areas is a not-to-exceed amount of just under $109,000.
