Triple digits high temperatures will be the trend for the first half of the last week of July in Sheridan County, as well as Eastern Montana.
The National Weather Service in Billings, Montana, has issued an excessive heat warning from 10am Monday (July 26th) until midnight Tuesday night (July 27th).
The high temperature on Monday is forecasted to be 100 degrees Fahrenheit, while Tuesday’s is 106 (current record high for July 27th is 103 set back in 1931).
The Weather Service advises you drink plenty of fluids, stay in an airconditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Be sure not to leave children and pets in a vehicle.
Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
Take extra precautions when outside.
Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing.
Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
Back on Monday, July 19th, a new record high temperature was set for the day, when it got up to 104 degrees, breaking the old record of 103 set back in 1960.
