Turkey Lane Residents Want Parking Area Moved

Residents on Turkey Lane west of Buffalo have been dealing with added traffic, parking problems, noise, and parties at the parking area for access to the walking trail near their homes, and are now asking the City of Buffalo to remove the parking area and move it elsewhere.

Residents came to Tuesday’s city council meeting to voice their concerns and ask for help from the city to avoid legal action and force the city to get it done.

Rob Lueders, acting as a “spokesman” for the residents, explained further what the group wants.

Lueders said they are ready to take back their neighborhood and remove the problems associated with the parking area.

According to the many residents that addressed the council during the meeting, problems include after-hours parties, parking of vehicles along Turkey Lane, garbage left along the road and at the parking area, and what some believed to be illegal activities at all hours of the night.

The group suggested the city might be able to move the parking area to city-owned property along Highway 16, west of Turkey Lane.

After the discussions, Mayor Shane Schrader suggested that he, Lueders, City Attorney Ben Kirven, and representatives of the Buffalo Trails Board come together to talk and hopefully find a solution to the problem, and address the issue again at the next city council meeting on July 20^th.
