CRISPR, a recent gene-driven biotechnology, will be the focus of a Zoom webinar presentation next week available through Sheridan College.

Presenter will be Matthew Craig, a member of the Gillette College biology faculty. The event will be at 7 p.m. next Wednesday, April 21, and is part of the Sheridan College Museum of Discovery Lecture Series.

Craig’s presentation will include a review of basic principles of DNA. CRISPR is reported to hold great promise for treating human genetic disorders, combating acquired diseases, improving the health and productivity of our cultivated species and even controlling pest species and disease transmission in nature.

Craig is in his 34th year of teaching college level courses and teaches biology and microbiology at Gillette College.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology and a master’s degree with an emphasis in herpetology from West Texas A&M University and took additional graduate courses at the University of Oklahoma.

To attend the webinar, go online at the time of the event to www.sheridan.edu/lecture.
