W. S. McPherren, Sheridan chief of police, has been mentioned to Sheridan county commissioners as the probable nominee for the place of deputy sheriff left vacant by the resignation of J. Ira Kirby.
B. A. Wait of Buffalo, accompanied by his wife, has been in Sheridan on a business trip.
Fred W. Freese leaves Sheridan today for Colorado. He will be replaced as manager of the Sheridan Gas Company by H. J. Forward, who comes here from Greeley, Colorado.
Members of the six miners’ unions employed in the mines that surround Sheridan gathered in Acme yesterday to celebrate the anniversary of the eight-hour day granted to mine workers.
