Foundation Set Up for Johnson County Sheriff’s Office

A foundation has been set up to receive tax-deductible donations from the public which will benefit the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Rod Odenbach explained that a recent issue with a donation made it clear that a 501c3 tax exempt foundation needed to be in place to accept donations.

County Attorney Tucker Ruby said the paperwork has been filed with the state and with the Internal Revenue Service for approval of their 501c3, and once approval comes from the IRS, the sheriff’s office can be placed on the state’s website for charitable organizations for donations.
