Immediately following Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon’s State of the State address earlier this week, Wyoming Supreme Court Chief Justice Michael K. Davis delivered the State of the Judiciary address.

Chief Justice Davis said in each of the five years prior to the pandemic, there have been at least 150,000 filings in the state’s Circuit and District Courts combined.

Chief Justice Davis also talked about how the state’s judicial system successfully handled the transition to remote hearings as courthouses throughout Wyoming were already equipped to handle virtual hearings prior to the pandemic.
