The next steps for the Master Plan for the Johnson County Healthcare Center was touched on by the hospital board at their recent meeting.

Not only capital construction projects, but looking at the possibility of financing those projects at the current lower interest rates to save money in the long run.

CEO Sean McCallister said he would like to bring Dan Odasz from Plan One Architects to a future meeting to help the board update their Master Site Plan now that some of those projects have been completed with COVID-19 funds.

McCallister said he would like to have the board discuss the Master Site Plan and a new electronic medical records system for the facility.

Dr. Mark Schueler explained to the board that the electronic records system would improve efficiency but it would be hard to put a dollar value on it.

It would also improve accuracy by a better transfer of information between the JCHC and neighboring hospitals through patient records from them and through referrals to them.
