The Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter has grown a reputation for rehabilitating, training and finding homes for dogs that were once believed to be too aggressive or misbehaved and cats of every temperament and variety.

But the shelter accepts many different species of animals that need to find new homes and begin new lives. Currently the shelter has five guinea pigs, two of them hairless.

Guinea pigs, even hairless ones, are often self contained in large cages, quiet and timid. The same cannot be said for three roosters needing to find new locations to help the sun rise.

During an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Sheridan Dog and Cat dog trainer and founder of the non-profit organization, the Unleashed Foundation Marian Eccles said the dogs at the shelter aren’t sure what to make of the crows. The roosters are also taking up space needed for dogs.

The Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter is charging just $10 per rooster. If interested, contact the shelter at 674-7694.
