SMH COVID Vaccination Clinic moves down priority list

Sheridan Memorial Hospital is moving down the COVID Vaccine Priority list to 1b-9. 

The hospital’s COVID Vaccination Clinic has successfully administered vaccines to everyone 65 years of age or older who has called and requested an appointment. 

Although SMH Chief Medical Officer Dr. John Addlesperger knows there are more residents that fall within the 65 and older category and the hospital has made great efforts to encourage them to receive the vaccine, he also knows the doses have a shelf limit and must move onto the next category.   

So far, the clinic has administered approximately 4,200 vaccinations to those on the list that fall under the previous listed priorities. According to Addlesperger, the clinic is ready to begin administering vaccinations to residents next in line.

According to Addlesperger several thousand residents will fall under the newly opened category. Addlesperger recommends calling the COVID Vaccination Clinic and scheduling an appointment as soon as possible.   

Those who have been identified as essential workers or are 65 years of age or older and want to receive the vaccine, can still call the SMH COVID Vaccination Clinic at 307-675-4471.
