Public Health: Over 1,000 Vaccinations Given in County So Far
The Johnson County COVID-19 Emergency Operations center briefing was held Tuesday, and Robin King with Public Health discussed the number of vaccinations given and how it may be given in the coming weeks.
King Said that as of Tuesday, Public Health has given just under 800 COVID vaccinations.
Adding in the numbers of vaccinations from the Johnson County Healthcare Center and the two pharmacies in Buffalo, the number of vaccinated in the county jumps to over a thousand, she said.
King said as more vaccinations come in, they will be needing cooperation with the JCHC to administer them.
Jennifer Burden, Marketing Director at the JCHC, wanted to address a misconception in the community.
Johnson County currently is receiving only 200 first doses of the vaccine per week, and Public Health is vaccinating 100 first doses and 100 second doses per week.
The two pharmacies are giving 50 first doses each per week.
