Buffalo Council Sets One-Percent Allocation Amount
Buffalo’s City Council voted to set this year’s annual allocation to the One-Percent Committee at $175,000 during their regular meeting Tuesday.
Johnson County and the City of Buffalowill both allocate one-percent funds this spring to be distributed through the One-Percent Committee, and those organizations interested in applying for a share of those funds need to complete their applications and submit them by this Friday, February 19th.
One-percent funds come from additional sales tax revenue generated in the county and are typically allocated to outside organizations such as the St. Francis Animal Shelter, Buffalo Trails Board, Johnson County YMCA, and the Chamber of Commerce.
Applications need to be submitted to either the County Commissioners’ office or Buffalo City Hall before 5pm Friday.
Application guidelines are available at the commissioners’ office or on the county website.
