City Approved for Energy Lease Program Loan
Late last year, the Wyoming Association of Municipalities and the Wyoming County Commission Association Energy Lease Program Joint Oversight Board issued a request for proposals for the 2021 Energy Lease Program Awards. Municipalities and counties in Wyoming were encouraged to apply for zero interest loans between $2,500 and $100,000 for projects that would increase the energy efficiency of public facilities.
The Sheridan City Council held a special meeting on December 28 where a resolution was approved by the Council to apply for a $100,000 loan to replace the windows at City Hall. City Governmental Affairs Specialist Bev Leichtnam, at Monday night’s City Council meeting, said the City’s application was approved for the full amount of $100,000.
Leichtnam said the project is going to proceed through the City’s budgeting process along with the required payments, and that the funds will be available after July 1.
