Impact 307 will receive no funding from the City of Sheridan after the City Council Monday night voted to not allocate any funds to the organization. Impact 307 had initially requested $80,000 in General Purpose Excise Tax funding, but it was announced at the meeting that if any money were to be allocated to the organization, it would come out of direct distribution from the City’s general fund. The following is an exchange between Councilman Clint Beaver and City Administrator Stu McCrae on changing where the allocation would come from.

Councilman Aaron Linden also voiced his concern on the issue.

Councilman Beaver’s motion to allocate zero funds to Impact 307 was approved by a vote of 6 to 1. Mayor Bridger was the lone vote against the zero allocation. The Council also approved the Woodland Meadows Minor Subdivision and a property loan agreement with Surfside Beach, South Carolina to return an original 1919 American LaFrance Fire Engine to Sheridan. We’ll have more from the Council meeting in future stories.
