A Look Back in Time: February 1, 1921

Now here’s Sheridan Media’s look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on Feb. 1, 1921.

Professor J. J. Marshal, principal of the high school, for the fifth consecutive year is today opening a free school to help foreign-born who are applicants for American citizenship to learn the English language and receive instruction in our government.

Several Sheridan school teachers have complained to city officials that small school boys are smoking cigarettes. This inquiry has revealed that older men were either buying or giving the cigarettes to the boys.

Apples for eating or cooking are $1.98 and $2.25 a box at the Basket Grocery Stores and Market.
