A virtual sentencing hearing for 19-year-old Jeremy Gill was held Wednesday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan. Gill was arrested and charged with Strangulation of a Household Member and Domestic Battery for an incident that occurred May 17 last year at a residence in Sheridan County.

District Court Judge John Fenn accepted the terms of the plea agreement that was reached with the State and sentenced Gill to 3 to 5 years in prison for the strangulation charge, suspended in lieu of a split-sentence of 168 days of incarceration and three years of supervised probation. For the domestic battery charge, Gill was sentenced to 90 days in jail, which will run concurrent to the split-sentence for the strangulation charge. Gill was also given 168 days credit for time served and ordered to pay $460 in various court costs and fees.
