Pretrial Conference Held for Sheridan Man Charged With 13 Felonies

A pretrial conference was held in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan Tuesday for William Ziska, who is set to stand trial next week for 12 counts of Felony Voyeurism, and one count of Sexual Exploitation of Children. Ziska was arrested and charged with the crimes for allegedly installing a video camera in the vent of a bathroom at a residence in Sheridan. The alleged criminal activity occurred between February 19 and March 22 of last year.

A motion by the defense to have a witness testify by video was denied by District Court Judge John Fenn. Fenn also ruled that all of the evidence presented by the prosecution during the week-long trial will be viewable by the public despite the graphic nature of the evidence. Ziska’s Attorney, Anna Malmberg late Tuesday afternoon, filed a change of plea motion and notice to vacate the jury trial. Ziska has agreed to plead no contest to all 13 charges.  If convicted on all 13 counts, Ziska faces up to 34 years in prison and fines of up to $70,000.
