Public Health Report from EOC Briefing

Johnson County Public Health Nursing Manager Trish Thompson spoke at this week’s EOC Briefing about COVID-19 vaccines, scheduling, and plans moving forward.

Thompson said they are receiving 100 doses of vaccine per week, which is one reason they are not able to vaccinate as many people as they would like.

She explained the issues further.

Thompson said they have already vaccinated the staff and residents at the Veteran’s Home that have not recently had COVID-19.

She explained what those who have had the virus can do to get vaccinated and how to help public health.

She wrapped up her portion of the briefing by asking the public to continue to be vigilant and careful by adhering to the state public health guidelines to help keep numbers of cases in the county lower.
