Johnson County’s COVID-19 Emergency Operations Center (EOC), in their weekly briefing Tuesday, updated the media on the latest information concerning the COVID vaccine, when it may be available in the county, and who may be getting it.

Public Health Nurse Trisha Thompson said there are fice counties in Wyoming that will be getting the Pfizer vaccine this week, which are counties that have had higher numbers of COVID cases.

The other counties in the state will be receiving Moderna vaccines once the Emergency Use Authorization is approved.

Thompson said with the initial limited supply of vaccine, the priority for vaccinations will go to healthcare providers in the community.

She said once more vaccine doses are available, more public information will be provided so those needing and wanting the vaccine will know when and how it will be available.
