Enzi Delivers Farewell Speech on Senate Floor
U.S. Senator Mike Enzi of Wyoming delivered his farewell speech on the Senate floor Wednesday, saying it wasn’t always his intention to get into politics. During his remarks, Enzi offered advice for finding common ground, citing his “80 percent tool” as an effective way of making change for the American people.
U.S. Senator John Barrasso of Wyoming spoke on the Senate floor about his colleague and long time friend.
Senator Enzi also highlighted his mission statement, which he said is guided by three principles: doing what is right, doing our best, and treating others as they wish to be treated. Enzi announced in early May of this year that he would not be seeking reelection and would retire at the end of his current term. Cynthia Lummis was chosen by Wyoming voters in November to be the next U.S. Senator for Wyoming.
