Interviews Conducted for New Buffalo Building Inspector
Current Buffalo Building Inspector Toby Rhoades recently reported to the city council that interviews of candidates for the building inspector position have been conducted in preparation of hiring a new inspector.
Rhoades will be retiring at the beginning of the new year and a new inspector will need to be in place at that time.
Also during his report, Rhoades said the slow season for construction has begun, with only 27 permits issued in the last two months.
One permit he has issued is for a storage building in Sunset Business Park which will contain living quarters as well.
He has mailed just over 200 contractor license renewal applications for the coming year and has received back about a dozen responses so far.
