A virtual change of plea hearing was held Tuesday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan for 19-year-old Jeremy Gill, who is charged with Strangulation of a Household Member and Domestic Battery. Gill was arrested and charged with the crimes for an alleged incident that occurred on May 17 of this year at a residence in Sheridan County. Pursuant to terms of a plea agreement reached with the State, Gill pleaded “guilty” to both of the charges. The plea deal recommends a sentence of 3 to 5 years in prison on the strangulation charge, and 90 days in jail on the domestic battery charge, and to run the sentences concurrent to one another.

The plea agreement also recommends that the sentences be suspended in lieu of a split-sentence of up to a year of incarceration and three years of supervised probation.  District Court Judge Fenn ordered that a presentence investigation be completed and scheduled the sentencing for January 14 at 11 am.
