Sheridan County School District #2 reports zero spread in schools

Sheridan County School District #2 Superintendent Craig Dougherty reports zero spread of the coronavirus within the district’s schools. This is due to hard work and following the recommended CDC guidelines, according to Dougherty.
During an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Dougherty said that’s due to the hard work of the district’s teachers and students and largely, Sheridan County Public Health officials and Dr. Ian Hunter.
Students and teachers alike have become infected with COVID-19 outside of the school environment, but no cases were reported as a result of school attendance. Dougherty publicly thanked Dr. Hunter and his team for requesting a mask mandate from Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon as rising numbers of positive cases risk more infections everyday.
Keeping the economy of Sheridan County operating keeps kids in school and learning, Dougherty said. Knowing and following the CDC guidelines is the only thing preventing a surge in COVDI-19, he said, citing the school district’s zero spread as an example to the rest of the community.
Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Assessment Mitch Craft brought attention to the hard work and accomplishments by the district’s teachers during an unusually challenging year.
