School position filled by write-in

One position on the board of Sheridan County School District 3 has been filled by write-in votes, but a vacancy on the Ranchester town council had not been filled by Thursday afternoon.
In School District 3, which is the schools in Clearmont and Arvada, three trustee positions were open. County Clerk Eda Schunk Thompson explained the procedure that was followed during Thursday’s election canvass.
She said the person receiving the largest number of write-in votes was Trinity Lewis. She said Lewis was contacted, and has accepted the write-in nomination.
The two people elected to the school board in Tuesday’s elections were Chris Schock and Amy Vineyard.
In Ranchester, only one candidate – Jeffrey Barron – ran for a seat on the town council, but two spots were open.
Thompson said there was a write-in nomination, but her office was still trying to contact that individual Thursday. It is unknown at this time whether that person will accept the nomination.
