Sheridan County Republicans will hold their annual Reagan Day Dinner Saturday at the Best Western Sheridan Center.

Holly Jennings, who chairs the Reagan Day Dinner committee, said the event will start with a reception at 5 p.m., followed by the dinner at 6:15 p.m. She said in honor of this being the 150th year of women’s suffrage, the theme of this year’s event is “Wyoming Women Lead,” and the speakers will be women.

The third speaker, she said, is Diomena Mercer, who is a high school student. Jennings said Mercer, who will be a voter in a couple of years, will share her thoughts on what the future looks like for Republican women.

In addition to the speakers, the event will include live and silent auctions.

Jennings said because the county Republicans knew businesses had been hit hard by COVID-19, instead of gift items or baskets this year, the silent auction will feature gift certificates to the businesses. She said the goal is for those who buy the gift certificates to actually go into the stores.

She said the Republicans are trying to promote the businesses and not just the donations.

The Reagan Day Dinner is the annual fundraiser for the Sheridan County Republican party. Jennings said several different categories of tickets are available, starting with individual tickets, which are $75 for the dinner only, or $100 for the reception and dinner.

She said there is a student ticket for $35 for the dinner only. No reception tickets are available to students.

She said people can buy a red, white and blue “sponsor” table which includes eight dinner tickets and eight reception tickets for $800.

Also this year, she said, there is a gold sponsor table which provides eight dinner and eight reception tickets and allows the buyer to donate four student tickets for $1,000. She said quite a few people have already purchased these tables.

Jennings said tickets to the event are still available. Anyone who wants to buy a ticket can call Jennings at 752-1207.
