Buffalo Council OKs Modified Street Closure for Monster March
The Buffalo Chamber of Commerce had requested a street closure for Main Street downtown as usual for the annual Monster March, but came before the city council Tuesday to request a change in the hours.
Meseret Tegenu, with the Chamber of Commerce, discussed the reasons for the request with the council.
Tegenu said there are about 50 businesses participating this year which will be lining both sides of Main Street from the courthouse to Angus Street, passing out candy and other goodies to the children.
Public Health Officer Dr. Mark Schueler has asked all marchers to wear masks, and those passing out candy to wear masks and gloves, and the extra time for the march is to accommodate social distancing.
The Monster March will be from 3 to 6 pm next Friday, October 30th.
