Arvada opened the Democratic fight in that community this week with one of the most enthusiastic political gatherings that town has ever witnessed. Ten of the Democratic candidates for county offices attended, and all were given a hearty reception.

Mr. and Mrs. S. E. King entertained informally at dinner last night. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Edward Carter and daughters of Parkman.
Donald Clark Loucks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Loucks, entertained a group of his friends yesterday in honor of his seventh birthday.
