Wilbur Holt Trust Funds Donated to Hospital Foundation
Nearly $600,000 in funds from the Wilbur Holt Trust was recently earmarked for the Johnson County Healthcare Center, and the Hospital Board of Trustees have decided to donate those funds to the Hospital Foundation.
During the board’s September meeting, Chairman Dr. Mark Schueler discussed the idea with the rest of the board.
According to Schueler, the Foundation also chose to count the funds as a payment on the loan the gave to the healthcare center for the Amie Holt Care Center, which has a remaining balance of just over $1 million.
The roughly $600,000 gift to the Foundation would lower that debt to just over $400,000.
The board voted to gift the funding to the foundation, with board member Tom Holt recusing himself from the vote.
