Drug Take-Back Event Coming October 24th
National Drug Take-Back Day is October 24th, and the Johnson County Prevention Council will be participating again this year in both Buffalo and Kaycee.
The Drug Take-Back Day is sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration, or DEA.
Prescription medications will be accepted, but the following items can not be accepted at the drop off locations: needles and sharps; mercury, as in thermometers; oxygen containers; chemotherapy medicines; radioactive substances; pressurized canisters; and liquids and creams.
The Drug Take-Back Day in Johnson County will be Saturday, October 24th from 10 to noon at Buffalo’s Ace Hardware and in Kaycee at the Kaycee Town Hall from 1 to 2pm.
Residents in both communities can bring unused, unwanted, or outdated prescription medications to be disposed of properly.
There will be no paperwork that needs to be filled out, and will only take a minute of time to drop off.
More information on the drug take-back events can be had by contacting the Johnson County Prevention Council.
