JCHC Chief of Staff Reports Facility ‘Doing Well’

The Chief of Staff at the Johnson County Healthcare Center, Dr. Ryan Ludwig, recently gave his report to the board of trustees, saying overall things “are going well” at the facility.

Dr. Ludwig said the emergency room has been busy, as it usually is during the summer, and the clinic has been working hard to ensure those that need to be seen are able to get in to see their doctors.

The Amie Holt Care Center is doing well, and still has no positive cases of COVID-19, despite the upswing in cases in surrounding counties.

Hospital volume is good, he said, with inpatient volume where they expected to be.

There has also been an increase in elective procedures in the last couple of months, which declined earlier in the year with concerns over COVID-19.

One concern he has seen is with the compensation model for the physicians, but he expects them to come together and accept the model.

He also reported that a physician had to be dismissed from the emergency room, but gave no other details, other than it was the right thing to do for the hospital.
