The Johnson County Healthcare Center’s Board of Trustees, in a special email vote, approved the purchase of a machine that can read the RT-PCR test for COVID-19 on-site.

Facility CEO Sean McCallister explained more about the machine.

The test machine will arrive in the next few weeks and will be up and functional by the end of September or early October.

The board approved the $70,000 purchase which is expected to be reimbursed to the facility through the State Loan and Investments Board’s COVID-19 funding program.
