There are currently 29 active cases of COVID-19 in Sheridan County. The information is from a news release from the office of the Sheridan County Commissioners. There are currently two individuals hospitalized due to the virus. As of Wednesday, there were a total of 94 lab confirmed cases in Sheridan County, 64 recovered, and one death related to the virus.

The news release from the County states that since the pandemic began, Sheridan County Public Health Staff have been in contact with over 200 residents who have been in close contact with, or live in the same household as, someone with a lab confirmed case of COVID-19. These individuals have not experienced symptoms of COVID-19, but they have been or are currently being monitored and quarantined (as necessary) to reduce the chance of spreading the virus.

Public Health is also communicating with and monitoring Sheridan County residents who experience symptoms of COVID-19, but have not been positively confirmed through laboratory testing. Sheridan County has had a cumulative total of 34 of these probable cases of COVID-19, with 8 cases currently being monitored and quarantined. Sheridan County has hired three part-time, temporary contact tracers using CARES Act funding. The new positions enable Public Health to investigate and monitor active, probable and close contact COVID-19 cases in the county.
