Sheridan Memorial Hospital is submitting a second grant application to help in funding to update the HVAC system for a permanent location for essential hospital staff while maintaining an ongoing surge area for COVID-19 patients.

Sheridan County’s Commissioners have drafted a letter of support for the grant application, saying that “over 40 essential hospital employees were moved to temporary locations to allow for an increase in patient care areas for COVID-19 patients.”

According to the letter, the employees will continue to bebe displaced until a new area is available on campus to house them.

The grant application will be submitted to the Office of State Lands and Investments.

The grant funding associated with the COVID-19 pandemic is being offered through the State Lands and Investments Board, who has received roughly $1 billion in funding from the federal government for corona virus relief capital improvement projects.
