‘BBQ for the Blues’ Raises Funds for Police Program

Thursday’s “BBQ for the Blues” event was a success, according to Buffalo Mayor Shane Schrader.

Schrader said the evening, which featured music, food, a silent auction, dunk tank and bounce house was a fundraiser for the Buffalo Police Department’s “Operation Blue Santa” program.

Mayor Schrader tells us more about the event.

“Operation Blue Santa” was developed and is administered by the Buffalo Police Department and has helped local families that needed some extra support such as gifts for children, groceries, gift cards, paying school lunch debts, providing free transportation for seniors through the BATS bus, and providing meal vouchers for seniors at the senior center.

Mayor Schrader said no official tally had been done yet on he amount raised at the event.
