Pat BlairAll three of the Northern Wyoming Community College District’s campuses – Sheridan and Gillette colleges and Sheridan College in Johnson County – will open their doors Monday for the start of fall classes.
Dr. Walt Tribley, president of the college district:
Dr. Tribley said the district has prepared in anticipation of the start, with informational signage and safety measures in place for the protection of faculty and students.
District-wide, he said, enrollment is close to 2,000 students. Some of them, he said, may only take one credit for the semester, while others may be taking 15 credits.
He said the enrollment this year is about 16 percent less than enrollment at the start date last year. But, he said, the budget approved by district trustees last month assumed a 20 percent decrease in enrollment.
That puts the district slightly ahead of earlier projections, but Dr. Tribley said those numbers are very close to being the same.
