Now here’s Sheridan Media’s look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on Aug. 9, 1920.

According to government statistics, the Sheridan coal field, which is adjacent to the city, contains the largest deposits of sub-bituminous coal to be found anywhere in the world.

Sheridan police are today working on another bold robbery of the D&D hardware store on Main and Brundage streets. The robbery occurred at 8 o’clock last night.

Harry Fisher, formerly state adjutant of the American Legion, will leave Sheridan today for Casper with Mrs. Fisher. They will go overland by way of Buffalo.

Big Horn Mountain Diamond Co. in Sheridan has the largest stock of agate and other semi-precious stones in the state.
