Now here’s Sheridan Media’s look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on Aug. 2, 1920.

It’s been reported today that Sheridan is the center of much of Wyoming’s oil activity.

H. G. Holden, Firestone representative at Sheridan, says stale air may have a very deteriorating effect on tires. He recommends that tires be filled with a fresh supply of air at least three times a year.

Word has been received in Sheridan that Mrs. Bessie M. Willis, county superintendent of schools in Buffalo during the past year, will resign her position and will occupy one of the teaching jobs in Johnson county this fall. The reason given is that a teaching job commands a much higher rate of pay than that of county superintendent of schools.
