The question of whether to continue the 1% Capital Facilities Tax in Sheridan County will go before voters in this year’s general election.

That is after the Sheridan County Commission voted to approve the proposition and place it on the ballot November 3rd.

County Administrative Director Renee Obermueller explained more about the tax.

The total amount that the county is asking is not-to exceed $40 million, which will be used for infrastructure improvements for Clearmont for $560,000; $1.92 million each for infrastructure projects and improvements for Dayton and Ranchester; $23 million for infrastructure projects in the City of Sheridan; and $12.6 million for improvements to roads, bridges, and public facilities in Sheridan County.
