Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Sheridan Memorial Hospital Foundation’s 2020 golf tournament was rated a huge success again this year.

Held earlier this month at the Powder Horn Golf Club, the Hole in One for Healthcare Golf Tournament raised over $12,000. Tournament organizers said the money will go toward the hospital’s areas of greatest need related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Because of restrictions imposed by the pandemic, this year’s tournament was a modified version of how the event has run in the past, including the number of teams able to play, the check-in process, tournament start and even the day of play.

Cody Sinclair, the hospital’s chief development officer, said the modifications were made with the safety of players and tournament volunteers in mind. He added the foundation looks forward to future tournaments when the event can be again opened to all friends and supporters.

The team of Shawn O’Dell, Will O’Dell, Danny Shore and Jason Shore took first place in this year’s tournament.

Others who received recognition for their excellent play this year included Kaelee Saner, Kristin Wilkerson, Logan Garstad and Joe Wright.

Sinclair said the event was a great day of golf and philanthropy. During the 11 years the tournament has been held, the event has raised over $250,000 for Sheridan Memorial Hospital.
