Johnson County Passes $44 Million Budget
Johnson County’s Commissioners passed their budget for the 2020-21 fiscal year at their regular meeting Monday, with each commissioner commenting on the difficult process they went through this year dealing with reduced revenues
The county passed resolution No. 640, which specified the funds allocated to county departments with a sub total operating budget of just over $11 million.
Adding $28 million in Reserves; $4.1 million in Perpetual Funds; and roughly $930,000 for the fair, library and museum brings the total General County Requirements for the fiscal year to $44.1 million.
Also approved in the budget hearing were the Special District mill levies; the Resolution to provide income for the budget; and the Resolution for transfer of funds for the 2020-21 budget.
We will have closer looks at those aspects of the budget in future stories.
